The 4th annual Byron Rec Women’s Expo & Craft Show took place on Saturday, April 30th this year, a week before Mother’s Day. At the expo, there were many great gifts to be found from over 70 vendors. The Community Center was packed full of shoppers and the parking lot was beyond capacity; this was by far the biggest year yet!
New this year, we had Andy Rent from The River broadcasting live on site from 12-2pm. It was so great to have the station here and we really think that additional level of marketing really helped the event reach more shoppers than in the previous years.
Most vendors had items you could purchase and take home the same day and we aim to increase that next year. We understand that for most it is more fun to shop when you can take something home with you vs. placing an order or picking up information to purchase something later. Each year we do our best to improve upon the previous year, and welcome feedback from the vendors and shoppers to help us do just that. So far the feedback we have received has been quite positive and we thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!
Another new addition to this year was having a website and Facebook page dedicated to the event to post all sorts of information and updates that might otherwise be annoying for our regular Facebook fans to see. We were hoping more vendors would take advantage of those outlets and share examples of their products, but only a handful posted photos. We hope to increase awareness next year and get even more vendors to be involved in the social media marketing. We love to see what great things people in our community create and have to offer, and potential shoppers do, too!
Thank you so much to everyone who came out and helped to support this event. We are already looking forward to next year!
